Celebration of Mind 2014: Honoring the 100th Anniversary of Martin Gardner’s Birthday

Join us as we celebrate the life and work of Martin Gardner on Sunday, October 26, 2–5 pm at the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute, located at 17 Gauss Way, Berkeley, CA 94720.

This year's event marks the 100th anniversary of Martin Gardner's birth.  It will include a variety of talks and engaging performances and will feature interactive activities and a wide selection of mathematical games and puzzles.  Children are welcome to attend and participate in these fun activities.

We encourage you to bring your favorite mathematical game, artifact, or trick to share with other attendees!

Sorry, this event is now fully subscribed.  Due to the building's capacity only those who have already RSVP'd will be able to attend.

This event is part of a worldwide celebration of the legacy of Martin Gardner, held annually on or near his birthdate (Oct. 21, 1914).  For more information about the Gathering for Gardner Foundation (G4G) 2014 Global Celebration of Mind Gathering, please visit the website:  www.g4g-com.org.

For a map and directions to MSRI, go to http://www.msri.org/web/msri/for-visitors/directions.  Free parking is available in the UCB parking lot between the Space Sciences Lab and the MSRI building.  Take the Gauss Way turnoff from Centennial Drive and drive to the parking lot (free on weekends).  Otherwise, MSRI's two rows of parking on the hillside requires walking up 96 steps to the Institute's entrance.
