An invitation-only dinner in the Great Hall at the Library of Congress for policymakers, philanthropists, and scientists to celebrate public and private support for basic scientific and mathematics research, especially given the role that basic math research plays in America’s global competitiveness. The Gala will be chaired by Jim and Marilyn Simons and co-chaired by Roger Strauch and Charles Simonyi. Featured speakers include Eric Lander, co-chair of President Obama’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology and one of the architects of the Human Genome Project.
