The Fleet Science Center regularly invites outstanding mathematicians and scientists to lend a more personal dimension to their exhibits. MSRI is pleased that mathematical biologist Dr. Mariel Vazquez (University of California, Davis), who uses topological tools including knot theory to study DNA, will host an upcoming exhibit on knot theory and related subjects at the Fleet.
Check out the Taping Shape 2.0 interactive exhibition, where hundreds of rolls of packing tape are unfurled and bound together to create a world of translucent spaces and tunnels for visitors of all ages to explore...
Other Events
Over the same weekend, Dr. Mia Minnes (University of California, San Diego) will lead a math collaboration adventure for 8th-12th grade girls in the BE WiSE (Better Education for Women in Science and Engineering) program at the Fleet Science Center.
