Arcadia's heroine is a math prodigy, and one of the characters is a professional mathematician. The play has references to ideas in the modern theories of chaos and discrete dynamical systems (as well as English landscape gardening and literary history!) that add spice to the dialogue. At this panel we'll try to untangle some of the math references, and also show a clip of a staged interview of Tom Stoppard by the mathematician Robert Osserman that was sponsored by the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute.
