Description Abstract: We present a program for acoustic and elastic wave-equation imaging and inverse scattering, based on the single scattering approximation, from two interrelated points of view, known in the seismic imaging literature as “reverse-time migration” (RTM) and ``receiver functions'' (avoiding knowledge of the source). We discuss: (i) the implications of observing the incident field, (ii) an (anisotropic) elastic-wave RTM inverse scattering transform, and (iii) partial reconstruction and illumination using wave packets.
