Title: The Kardar-Parisi-Zhang Equation.
Week 2: Deriving the Exact One-point Function Formula.
Abstract: Tracy and Widom recently provided certain exact formulas for a particular discrete growth process. Using Bertini and Giacomin's approach we see that by taking suitable "weakly asymmetric" scaling limits of these exact formulas, it is possible to derive the exact one-point distribution function formula for the solution to the KPZ equation. In this second talk we will focus on deriving these exact formulas and taking their weakly asymmetric limit. This KPZ solution formula was derived in a joint work with Gideon Amir and Jeremy Quastel.
