Abstract/Media

Semigeostrophic system is a model of large-scale atmospheric/ocean flows.
I will discuss some results on existence of weak solutions in "dual" and "physical" spaces.
Methods and tools include Monge-Kantorovich mass transport and the theory of transport equations with BV vector fields. Open problems will be also discussed.
