Abstract/Media

I'll review some of the basics of Frobenius splitting and explain how this theory has been used to study a number of varieties arising in combinatorial commutative algebra (eg. those discussed in part 3 of the Miller-Sturmfels textbook). The majority of this talk will be expository and no knowledge of Frobenius splitting will be assumed.
