Abstract/Media

Michael Harris: Overview and goals.

This introduction will outline some of the new phenomena that appear in mod p and p-adic representations of p-adic groups, in particular the role of derived Hecke algebras, and some questions that we might discuss in the working group.

David Ben-Zvi: Geometric construction of Harish Chandra characters for real groups.

I will explain how the theory of characters in derived algebraic geometry can be applied to construct and describe characters for (g,K)-modules. (No relation to the topic of the working group will be implied.)
