Abstract/Media

I will explain why one should be able to upgrade the Satake isomorphism to an equivalence of categories, talk about the function-sheaf dictionary, and give an overview of the proof of the geometric Satake correspondence. The goal is to motivate the technical tools that will be used and to explain the major steps of the argument.
