Let $X$ and $Y$ be points in Teichmueller space and endow the latter with the Lipschitz metric $d_L$. In this talk I will explain why is there a constant $c(X,Y)$ such that the number of points in the mapping class group orbit of $Y$ within distance $R$ of $X$ is, when $R$ grows, asymptotic to $c(X,Y) e^{(6g-6)R}$. This is joint work with Kasra Rafi.
