Abstract/Media

Given a discrete group $\Gamma$ of automorphisms of a uniform tree $T$, we will give counting and equidistribution results of common perpendiculars between two locally finite orbits of subtrees of $T$ when their lengths tend to $\infty$. Applications will be given to equidistribution results of rational and quadratic irrational elements in local fields of positive characteristic. This is joint work with A.~Broise and J.~Parkkonen.
