The renormalized volume VR is a finite quantity associated to certain hyperbolic 3-manifolds of infinite volume. In this talk I’ll discuss its definition and some properties for acylindrical manifolds, namely local convexity and convergence under geometric limits. If time suffices I’ll also discuss some applications and further examples.
