Abstract/Media

Hermann Weyl was one of the leading mathematicians of the 20th century; he wrote widely and influentially in many different fields. In this talk I want to discuss his evolving philosophical, scientific, and mathematical positions in the 1910s and 1920s, when he put forward his ideas on how meaning and value enter into human thought, and how those ideas fared when he came to the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton in 1933.
