Abstract/Media

I will discuss a "logarithmic" compactification of the moduli space of stable maps with p-fields, which determines the all-genus Gromov-Witten theory of a hypersurface given the knowledge of the Gromov-Witten theory of the ambient space and some additional ("effective") invariants (or cycles), of which there are finitely many for any fixed genus. One of the most interesting application is to the computation of higher genus Gromov-Witten invariants of quintic threefolds.

This is based on joint works with Q. Chen, S. Guo and Y. Ruan.
