Abstract/Media

The Frobenius contraction functor was recently introduced by Gros and Kaneda and is a powerful tool in the study of representations of algebraic groups in positive characteristic. In this talk we explain work joint with Leslie which relates Frobenius contraction with a certain restriction functor on the affine Grassmannian, under geometric Satake. Our theory gives various other restriction functors, which have representation theoretic counterparts, many of which are new. These are not well understood yet, but are likely to correspond in some cases to the linkage functors of Hazi.
