Abstract/Media

Rational Cherednik algebras are close relatives of Hecke algebras, they appear in many places in Representation theory and beyond (Algebraic Geometry, Combinatorics, Integrable Systems, Knot theory etc.). In my talk I will concentrate on the Cherednik algebras for the symmetric groups and explain fundamental results on their representation

theory in characteristic 0. Then I will talk about the representation theory in large positive characteristic. This is a fascinating topic that gives a glimpse of what the "the double affine representation theory" should look like.
