I'll begin by introducing the notion of Tate twists in mixed characteristic (in terms of prismatic cohomology), and recall its relation to algebraic K-theory. I'll then explain why the calculation of prismatic cohomology as a q-deformation of the de Rham complex can be used to show that these Tate twists are, locally on the quasisyntomic site, concentrated in degree 0. (Joint work with Peter Scholze.)
