Abstract/Media

Inside the rational Chow ring of the moduli space of curves, there is a subring called the tautological ring. In general, there is no reason to expect that the tautological ring should equal the Chow ring, yet they are equal in genus up to 6. In this talk, I will explain some progress on computing the Chow ring in genus 7. The emphasis will be using tools from equivariant intersection theory to understand loci of curves of a fixed gonality.
