This first meeting will be devoted to deciding on a topic — this meeting could also serve as an opportunity to generate and solicit interest in other topics that could be launched as side Reading/Learning Groups.
So if you’re keen to capitalize the amplified expertise MSRI is facilitating for learning a particular topic or figuring some stuff out, consider preparing a ~2 minute pitch of that topic, including an selection of supporting papers. Even if you don’t intend to pitch a topic, please come with a willingness to participate in the decision-process, which will be a real-time vote, facilitated by an HC organizer.
The responsibility of divvying up presentations/literature will be on the person/people leading the topic — one of the HC organizers will manage the announcement front.
