A Segal Model for Modular Operads

Abstract/Media

Modular operads, introduced by Getzler and Kapranov, are a variation on operads where the distinction between input and output of operations is relaxed and where self-gluing of operations is permitted. In joint work with Marcy Robertson and Donald Yau, we explored a homotopy coherent version of modular operads. This project takes inspiration from the dendroidal approach to operads. In this talk we take a look at a category of undirected graphs, which is a stand-in for the dendroidal category Ω, and show a bit about what one can do with it.
