In this talk, we will discuss the modulus of a family of curves in the setting of Ahlfors regular metric spaces, and show how good modulus bounds, namely the Loewner condition, imply geometric properties of the space. In particular, we will look at the role of the modulus in the work of Heinonen and Koskela on quasiconformal and quasisymmetric maps between such spaces. If time permits, we will highlight their use of Ahlfors regularity and the Poincaré inequality in obtaining modulus estimates.
This seminar is for postdocs and PhD students, and we kindly ask faculty not to attend.
