What Have PDE To Do With Non-Local Dirichlet Forms In Metric Setting, And How To Non-Linearize Them?

Abstract/Media

To participate in this seminar, please register HERE.

In this talk I will give an introduction to a connection between PDE (associated with a strongly local phenomenon) and non-local phenomenon such as jump processes, extending the work of Caffarelli and Silvestre to the metric setting. This leads to constructions of fractional powers of Laplacians, and their non-linear counterparts, fractional p-Laplacians. The talk is based on joint work with Luca Capogna, Riikka Korte, Josh Kline, and Marie Snipes.
