Many heroic assumptions inside commonly used economic and financial models have been violated to an extreme in this period with the pandemic and the war in Ukraine, challenging their usefulness or challenging us to develop more robust models.   The topics are eclectic and wide-ranging -- from options theory, to inflation forecasting, to event risk management, to far from equilibrium analysis taking a page from complexity theory.   There will be no equations, but lots of charts, and hopefully plenty of ideas to discuss.  All from the perspective of a practitioner.
