Non-Diophantine Sets In Rings Of Functions
Except for some special cases, very little is known about the Diophantine and non-Diophantine sets in polynomial rings and fields of rational functions. In this talk I'll show that several natural sets in these rings are not Diophantine. This is a report on joint recent (last two weeks) work with N.\ Garcia-Fritz and T.\ Pheidas.
