Hilbert schemes of space curves are one of the most classical moduli spaces in algebraic and enumerative geometry, yet there are only a handful of examples that are fully understood. The moduli space of Pandharipande-Thomas stable pairs is a variant of the Hilbert scheme of curves in threefolds so that the extra points can be handled more effectively. In this talk, after a brief introduction to the algebro-geometric background material, I will explain how the approach of wall-crossing in the Bridgeland stability space and techniques from derived algebraic geometry help to study these moduli spaces.
