On the Castelnuovo-Mumford regularity of subspace arrangements
The first part of this talk will be concerned with an introduction to the Castelnuovo-Mumford regularity and the Hilbert function of the reduced ideal of an arrangement of linear spaces in projective space. The second part will feature recent results obtained together with Aldo Conca, and in particular an improvement on the regularity bound of Derksen and Sidman (2002) for an arrangement of codimension >1 generic linear spaces.
