DG Tricks in Local Algebra V
This time we will introduce cohomological support varieties: an invariant for local rings and modules whose definition is tied to Eisenbud operators and matrix factorisations. We'll talk about have they can be used to prove some results of Avramov and Buchweitz on the homological algebra of complete intersections, and then move onto a more general perspective developed by Pollitz. Finally, we'll try to understand a useful connection between cohomological support varieties and the homotopy Lie algebra.
