We'll continue to discuss the definition of CEI associated to a cyclic A_infty algebra and a splitting of the Hodge filtration on its cyclic homology. My plan is to go into a bit more detail as to why this splitting is exactly what is needed to define the CEI, and then to give the purely algebraic formal definition. I will also discuss some applications and open problems for the future.

The talk should be mostly self-contained, so those who missed the previous talk should still be able to follow. This exposition is based on joint work with Junwu Tu, Kevin Costello, and others.
