Semiclassical analysis and mixing
Ergodic mixing is an example of time irreversible phenomena emerging from a time reversible system. In a work by Faure, Roy and Sjöstrand, they discovered ergodic mixing of uniformly hyperbolic systems can be understood using the theory of semiclassical analysis and pseudodifferential operators. In this talk, I will give a short overview of this theory. I will end the talk discussing my own recent work (with Bedrossian and Punshon-Smith) adapting this theory to random dynamical systems, with applications to turbulence.
