SPDE approach to turbulent heat transport. Towards the case of fusion plasma models Part 1

Heat transport in turbulent fluids is a classical problem; SPDEs offer tools to investigate it when turbulence is modeled by stochastic processes, both in the case of small-scale turbulence and - up to certain restrictions - when larger scale structures are present. Motivated by plasma models, the cases of streamers and transport barriers will be touched, again modeled phenomenologically. Then, more difficult questions will be addressed, concerning the realism of such stochastic models, the origin of large scale structures and parameter calibration, with reference to Hasegawa-Mima models for a potential source of explanation.
