In this joint work with Shahar Mozes, we investigate what happens to the closure projection of an complex analytic manifold in the ball model to a compact quotient. This is related to work of Klinger, Ullmo, Yafaev, Mok (etc) who study the Zariski closure of the projection in an arithmetic context. While their proof involves arithmetics and Hodge theory, our only uses Ratner theorem.
