I will present a general Dehn filling theorem for representations of relatively hyperbolic groups into semisimple Lie groups, and explain how the theorem can be used to understand exotic examples of convex cocompact subgroups in PU(3,1) and Anosov subgroups of SL(4,R). Some of this is joint work in progress with Jeff Danciger.
