Abstract

In this talk, we will be talking about Macdonald polynomials and why we care about them. Our motivation will come not only from different areas in mathematics, but also from physics. I will give an overview of how some of the results in the theory of Macdonald polynomials solve problems in physics, and the approach via c-functions.
