Weight-one modular forms are classical yet mysterious objects. They have numerous interesting features not present in higher-weight modular forms due to their degenerate nature. I will discuss various (archimedean, p-adic, ...) incarnations of such degeneracy in the arithmetic of weight-one modular forms.
