Following a paper of Loeffler-Pilloni-Skinner-Zerbes we will outline the higher Hida theory for the group GSp(4), which can be used to interpolate ordinary parts of cohomology of Shimura varieties attached to this group. We will further discuss the construction of p-adic L-functions that this method enables.
