FD2 Reunion Seminar: Waves Modeling And Observations
The main purpose of this talk is to explain how the propagation of water waves across the ocean and waves forecasts are currently being performed and why they involve a PDE in 4 dimensions of space. Observations of waves by in situ devices and radars on board satellites will also be introduced; they are complementary to numerical models for wave propagation and also yield interesting mathematical problems.
