Deriving a quantum Boltzmann equation from first principles remains a long-standing open problem. I will introduce ideas developed by Thomas Chen and me to uncover the quantum Boltzmann dynamics in the corrections to the mean-field NLS equation describing the evolution of a dense Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC). I will introduce the language necessary to formulate this problem, which is given by second quantization/Fock space formalism.
