"Martin Bridgeman and I are organizing a series of informal discussion sessions for the RAS program, called 'This week I am thinking about...'. The sessions involve members of the program talking for 5-7 minutes about what they are working on currently. Would it be possible to add this to the list of weekly events? The first two sessions will be on Thursday Oct 1st and Thursday Oct 8th from 1 pm to 2.30 pm. I know that this inconveniences people in Europe and further east, but this is an experiment to get people in the program talking to each other. If the first few sessions are successful, then we might create some more sessions that work better for other time zones.

Program members can sign up to give talks in this series on a spreadsheet that we will create and circulate. I can draft an event announcement and send it to you or to the RAS email list directly. Let me know which works better."
