Renormalization is a powerful and versatile technique that has become an invaluable tool in the field of low-dimensional dynamical systems. The aim of this session is to have an informal and intuitive discussion about what it means to renormalize a dynamical system, and how this can help us understand its long term behavior. Then if there is enough time, we will take a look at a classical example of renormalization in action: the theory of circle diffeomorphisms.

This seminar is for postdocs and PhD students, and we kindly ask faculty not to attend.
