Monodromy representations provide a powerful algebraic lens through which we can study the topology of a branched cover. We will go over the general notion of monodromy representations, followed by discussing various applications of monodromy to complex dynamics. If time permits, we will apply monodromy representations to Hubbard's Twisted Rabbit problem [1] and to the convergence of Newton-like root-finding schema [2].
