Special Lagrangians near adiabatic limits

A basic question in complex and symplectic geometry is to find special Lagrangian submanifolds in Calabi-Yau manifolds. Despite significant progress over the last few decades, examples of special Lagrangians in compact Calabi-Yau manifolds remain scarce. In this talk, I will describe a gluing construction for special Lagrangians in Calabi-Yau 3-folds admitting a K3-fibration structure. As the Calabi-Yau metrics collapse, these special Lagrangians shrink to 1-dimensional graphs in the base of the fibration. This is joint work with Yu-Shen Lin.
