Spinor, skew torsion, and special geometries

Abstract/Media

Zoom Link

I will present some recent results (and review some classical ones under a new point of view) on the link between special spinor fields, adapted connections with (skew) torsion, and manifolds with special geometric structures from the unifying point of view of their holonomy properties. Along the way, I will explain a few interesting applications like classifying certain homogeneous spaces, constructing manifolds of strongly positive curvature, and what the heck 3-(\alpha,\delta)-Sasaki manifolds are.

This is joint work Reinier Storm, Leander Stecker, Jonas Henkel, and Henrik Naujoks (all PhD students from Marburg) as well as Simon Chiossi, Thomas Friedrich, Giulia Dileo,  and Jos Holl.
