An introduction to veering triangulations: From pseudo-Anosov flows (without perfect fits) to veering triangulations

Following Agol and Gueritaud, from a pseudo-Anosov flow (without perfect fits) we will construct a veering triangulation.  We'll discuss the combinatorics of these triangulations, give a useful decomposition result, and, if there is time, hint at the way back: that is, how to recover the flow from the triangulation.
