Introduction to dynamic pairs
No Notes/Supplements UploadedA theorem of Gabai and Mosher states that every finite depth foliation on a compact hyperbolic 3-manifold admits an almost transverse pseudo-Anosov flow. This talk is the first in a series aimed at explaining the key points of the Gabai-Mosher theorem. In this talk, we will explain the notion of a dynamic pair. These are combinatorial objects that encode pseudo-Anosov flows, and they serve as the underlying machinery behind Mosher's proof of the theorem.
