This intensive three-day workshop for women will introduce advanced graduate students and recent PhDs to current areas of research in Representation Theory. It will consist of introductory mini-courses and talks, as well as a poster session where all participants will be encouraged to present their work. An important purpose of the workshop is to establish a professional network for participants by introducing them to each other and each others' work. To this end there will also be a dinner and social activities, as well as a panel discussion on issues related to women in mathematics. The workshop is part of the semester programs Combinatorial Representation Theory and Representation Theory of Finite Groups and Related Topics and participants are encouraged to attend associated Introductory Workshops on Combinatorial Representation Theory from January 21 to January 25, and Representation Theory of Finite Groups from January 28 to February 1. The Connections for Women workshop will be a good introduction to these two workshops. Participant Research Summaries Accommodations: A block of rooms has been reserved at the Rose Garden Inn.
