Low-Dimensional Mathematics

Abstract

The study of topology in dimensions 2 and 3 has evolved, over the past several decades, to a field that embraces hyperbolic geometry, complex dynamics and moduli spaces, and makes contact with disciplines ranging from number theory and algebraic geometry to ergodic theory and mathematical physics. We will provide a glimpse of this development, including prospects and open questions.
