Organizers Frank Calegari, Samit Dasgupta, David Ellwood, Bjorn Poonen, and Richard Taylor
Description
This conference, jointly funded by MSRI and the Clay Mathematics Institute, will bring together researchers on many aspects of the arithmetic applications of modular (and automorphic) forms. This is currently a very broad and very active subject. Our intention is to encourage interaction between those working in different sub-disciplines. To this end it is hoped to limit lectures to 4 hours a day, allowing plenty of time for informal interactions. On Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at 7pm there will be a dinner to honor Ken Ribet on his 60th birthday. Speaker List: Matthew Baker Joel Bellaiche Kevin Buzzard Frank Calegari Robert Coleman Samit Dasgupta Matthew Emerton Johan de Jong Benedict Gross David Helm Nicholas Katz Mark Kisin Elena Mantovan Barry Mazur Loic Merel Bjorn Poonen William Stein Marie-France Vigneras Links to 500KB PDF file Talk Titles and Abstracts PDF 73KB Tex 12KB Schedule: http://math.berkeley.edu/~poonen/schedule.html Saturday and Sunday talks will be held on the UC Berkeley campus, in 105 North Gate Hall (http://www.berkeley.edu/map/maps/AB45.html). Beginning Monday, June 30, talks will be held in the Simons Auditorium at MSRI's Chern Hall (directions: http://www.msri.org/about/directions/index_html). This workshop is partially supported by the Clay Mathematics Institute and the Number Theory Foundation. If you would like to participate in our Tuesday dinner, complete the registration form here by Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at 5pm: Dinner Registration Form PDF 48KB A block of rooms has been reserved at the Rose Garden Inn.
