Paul Samuel Ignacio, Graduate Assistant
Paul Samuel Ignacio is an assistant professor of Mathematics at the University of the Philippines Baguio, and a graduate student in the Mathematics Ph.D. program at the University of Iowa, where he is a Fulbright Scholar. He received his BS and MS in Mathematics degrees at the University of the Philippines Baguio in 2010 and 2013 respectively, and a second MS in Mathematics degree from the University of Iowa in 2016. His research interests are in Topological Data Analysis where he applies tools from Algebraic Topology to extract features from spaces built up from point cloud data. Paul enjoys photography a lot! When not doing math, he likes to take photos of his friends, birds, flowers, and dogs. He also volunteered to tell the MSRI-UP 2018 story through his lens.
